Wawa Welcome America is Philadelphia’s premier summer festival that celebrates freedom and independence from Juneteenth to July 4th!
As the nation’s largest July 4th celebration and one of the largest free festivals in the country, Wawa Welcome America offers Philadelphians and visitors 16 days of free, family-friendly programs that celebrate the lives, voices, and experiences of all Americans through art, culture, wellness, and history. This year’s Wawa Welcome America Festival includes multiple concerts, three nights of fireworks, Wawa Hoagie Day, dozens of free museum days, block parties, a patriotic parade, and more!
You won’t want to miss free performances by: Kid ’n Play at the Juneteenth Block Party at The African American Museum in Philadelphia on June 19; Joseph Fonseca and Huey Dunbar at Concilio’s Hispanic Fiesta on June 22 and June 23; a celebration of Black Music Month and tribute to Gamble, Huff, and Bell at the Dell Music Center, curated by music legend Dyana Williams and featuring Bill Jolly as music director on June 28; The Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center during the Avenue of the Arts Block Party on June 29; Tamela Mann at Gospel on Independence on June 30; LeAnn Rimes with The U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus on July 3; DJ Diamond Kuts and Snacktime on the Parkway followed by NE-YO and Kesha at the July 4th Concert + Fireworks on July 4.
In addition to free concerts, you can join in celebrating milestones for many of Philadelphia’s remarkable institutions, including Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse’s 125th Anniversary (June 21), Jefferson’s 200th Anniversary (June 25), Philadelphia Zoo’s 150th Anniversary (July 1), Carpenters’ Hall’s 250th Anniversary, and The Franklin Institute’s 200th Anniversary (July 2). Each will feature unique programming for guests of all ages to enjoy.
